Will Jack Black's Real Birthdate Please Stand Up?

There are two birthdates for Jack Black circulating on the internet: August 28, 1969 -- which seems more "respectable" sinced it is posted on imdb and wikipedia -- and April 7, 1969, which is listed on yahoo and many other film sites.

The veritable astrodatabank does not weigh in with accurate birth information, so which sources do we trust?

Let's look at Jack's personal and social (Jupiter and Saturn) planets for each of these birthdates:

PlanetVirgo Jack Black
August 28, 1969 chart
Aries Jack Black
April 7, 1969 chart

SunVirgoAries
MoonPiscesSagittarius
MercuryLibraAries
VenusCancerAries
MarsSagittariusSagittarius
JupiterLibraVirgo
SaturnTaurusAries

Hmm.... The Aries Jack Black has all his personal planets in fire signs, which tend to be inspiring, exuberant, energetic. The Virgo Jack Black ... well, first of all, a Virgo Jack Black would be subservient and behind-the-scenes, not an in-your-face frontman for Tenacious D and all around crazy man. With Mercury in Libra, Virgo Jack Black would communicate in a graceful, people-pleasing manner, as opposed to Aries Jack Black, whose Mercury in Aries would speak impulsively and forcefully without a care for the feelings of others. (Think School of Rock.) I could go on....

However, there is a sensitive musician side to Jack, which is expressed by Virgo Jack's Moon in Pisces. Depending on the time of day Virgo Jack might have been born, his Moon could have been in a Grand Water Trine with Venus in late Cancer and Neptune in late Scorpio. Venus-Neptune aspects are famous for musicians, who express the ineffable (Neptune) through art (Venus). Additionally, an opposition from Pluto to his intuitive Pisces Moon would provide Virgo Jack the intensity and the drive to tap into the depths of the collective soul to ROCK OUT. On the other hand, the Aries Jack could have Pluto squaring his Sagittarius Moon, but would not have any significant Neptune aspects to his personal planets. (And unfortunately, without an exact birthtime we cannot know if any of these planets sit on one of his angles.)

I'm leaning towards Aries Jack, despite Virgo Jack's beautiful kite formation (Pisces Moon opposite Pluto, and trine Venus in Cancer and Neptune in Scorpio). I just don't see how Virgo Jack could channel the tremendous amount of energy that Aries Jack -- with all of his personal planets plus Saturn in fire signs -- conveys on screen and on stage.

At first I thought definitely the Aries. It's hard for me to imagine a Virgo with the kind of persona Jack expresses (loud, slovenly, humorous, out there, etc.). The one thing that bothers me is the tight stellium in Aries trine Mars - it's hard to imagine that chart could focus enough to become a film star. Plus the square from Pluto/Jupiter to Mars would give him some real anger issues, have we heard anything about how he is on the set? The Aries Jack Black would be much more of a jerk. The character he always plays is that of the jerky guy who has a heart of gold. It seems to me that's more the Virgo Jack. That gives him Mars square Jupiter/Uranus, giving him that chaotic edge, and the Pisces Moon would explain his musical tendencies. I guess I'm leaning towards the Virgo!

It's a tough call, and descriptive of the problems inherent in celebrity profiles.

Lynn,
(I deleted your second post because it was a duplicate of the first). Can we talk orbs? In the Aries chart, the Pluto-Mars square has an 8-9 degree orb, which seems just on the edge of too wide. In the Virgo chart, Mars is not aspecting Jupiter-Uranus, but does square Pluto with a 7-8 degree orb. So in both charts -- because Mars had a lengthy station in Sag in 1969 -- Pluto is widely squaring Mars.

The webmaster of a popular Jack Black fan site recently responded to me stating that she heard him say his bday was 8/28 but I haven't gotten any confirmation beyond that.

The Virgo Jack Black does seem to have much more musical talent, with the Venus-Neptune trine and Moon in Pisces. But with Venus in Cancer, Mercury in Libra ... he just seems to be much more of a cultivated softie than his onscreen persona suggests. Perhaps the Mercury-Uranus conjunction would lend that "shocking" quality that comes out of his mouth, but I'm still on the fence.

Your points are all excellent, and I apologize for the duplicate posts. I typically use bigger orbs for a planet like Pluto to an inner planet -my moon is 8 deg away from an exactly conjunction with Pluto, and believe me, I feel it. :)

Hi Jeffrey! I just discovered your site. Love love it! I Never met a guy who combines film with astrology ....my perfect man. I agree with Lynn Hayes about Jack Black being a Virgo- here are some more indications: Jack Black made a comment to a reporter when "Shallow Hal" was released about his role in" High Fidelity" about that role. He was hesistant to take the role in "High Fidelity" because he is not a mean person. To me, this would indicate he is a Virgo with that Venus in Cancer . I have been a Jack Black fan for years and found out about the two different birthdates. Also, Virgos physically tend to be shorter (I have stood next to Richard Gere in real life so I know this is truth). Jack is chubby which is connected to that Venus in Cancer ( loves to be nutured). One last thought here. I think if Jack was an Aries with those planets, he would be a very aggressive person and his energy would be angry and "sparky". He has been focused on his career since high school. He attended Crossroads and is good friends with Maya Rudolph. Another indication of him being a Virgo.

Hi There,

Is it possible that there might be more than one interpretation for an Aries stellium? I know one way to view it is as a placement with, as you all say, "anger." Surely not every Aries is angry?

My natal chart has sun, mercury, venus, saturn, chiron, and north node in Aries. Unless I have some reason to be angry, generally I'm not.

...just wanted to speak up for Aries...you know, since we're so downtrodden. ;-)
