  • Aquarius Full Moon on August 19

The Bad News Bears turns 29

The Saturn Return is a major completion of a cycle, often signalling a deepening of maturity and a taking-on of responsibility. Movies can have Saturn Returns, too. The Bad News Bears was released April 7, 1976, with Saturn at 26 Cancer. Twenty-nine years later, the remake was released on July 22, 2005, with Saturn at 0 Leo (just a few degrees away from 26 Cancer).

Another movie which has had its Saturn Return, truly signalling the end of a cycle, is Star Wars....

Aquarius Full Moon on August 19
    Full Moon

My natal Moon is in Aquarius. Only an Aquarian personality would consult astrology charts on his Palm handheld, and spend too much time on the internet. Aquarius rules technology, astrology, outer space, abstract science, friendships, helping the collective, fighting against The Man. Aquarius needs to be independent, to be innovative, to do things differently.

The Moon is not so happy in Aquarius. The water-bearer tends to be detached, emotionally distant, impersonal, whereas Luna wants intimacy and mothering, a feeling of merging. Aquarius intellectualizes his feelings, approaches emotions from the mind instead of the heart or the body.

    This Full Moon illuminates

    • how you think away your feelings.
    • how you choose an authority figure or establishment against which to rebel, just for the sake of rebelling.
    • how your fascination with "the collective" and "the good of science" leads you to run over the feelings of real people.

This Full Moon sextiles (60 degree angle) Pluto in Sagittarius. Pluto intensifies the Lunar, and draws out that which has been hidden. The Lord of the Underworld regenerates by unearthing the contents of the psyche. This outer planet also relates to use and abuse of Power. In soft aspect to the moon, Pluto can gently (gently, that is, for the planet of destruction) bring to the surface those feelings which we have avoided during our detached gaze toward the heavens.

Saturn in Leo CD for sale

This hour-long talk includes a discussion of how Saturn has affected the film industry, gambling, child-rearing, sports and parties. An extensive Q&A explores how transiting Saturn will affect those with their natal Sun in Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius.
