  • The Waxing Moon is released at the beginning of each lunar cycle, to inform you about my astrological take on film professionals, the upcoming full moon, and anything else that draws my attention.

    Wallace & Gromit

One of the most popular imports from Great Britain is the claymation of Nick Park, creator of Wallace and Gromit, and co-director of the feature films Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. My latest Astrology at the Movies essay explores how Park's natal Mars-Jupiter-Uranus T-Square correlates with themes of technological failure, the fight for freedom, and the deathly use of technology to acquire wealth. (You didn't know that animation had such deep archetypal import?)

    Gemini Full Moon - 12/15
    Full Moon

Pluto conjoining the Sagittarius Sun transforms our yearning to grow and expand, but can also make us obsessive about our belief systems. Looking at the Big Issues at this time can be life-changing.

The Sun also shines his light on the Gemini Moon. Whereas Sagittarius is concerned with beliefs, opinions and philosophy, Gemini is interested in facts and data. The lower expression of Gemini is a superficial interest in many things without truly delving deep to understand the profundities within one field of study. Whereas Pluto in Sagittarius may signify the obsessive graduate student who spends years to become an expert in her field of discipline, Gemini likes to read the tabloids, do crossword puzzles and gossip about the neighbors.

Writing and communicating, of course, are Gemini's forté. This full moon would be a good opportunity to use the pen or keyboard to explore how we can relinquish extreme belief systems to which we have been compulsively clinging.

Gemini Full Moon - Advanced Version

This month's full moon is in an extremely stressful configuration. The Moon is opposite Pluto and the Sun, sesquisquare Jupiter, and semi-square Mars and Saturn (wide orb). Although Neptune is not in orb of the full moon, it is making a fixed grand cross with Mars, Saturn and Jupiter. A look at the fourth harmonic chart will simplify this configuration, showing that Moon, Sun and Pluto are opposite Mars, Jupiter and Saturn.

Pluto-Saturn-Mars has the potential to be a pretty violent combination. Pluto drives the Martian principle of aggressiveness with titanic force, and Saturn lends his dark negativity. Although Jupiter usually provides a benevolent influence, he is in the sign ruled by Pluto and Mars (Scorpio), and is in hard aspect, so in this case he serves to expand and exaggerate the dark, subterranean influence of Pluto.

How does the fixed Mars-Jupiter-Saturn t-square impact the full moon? This tremendous, concentrated drive is applied towards the pursuit of information. Pluto and Jupiter are in mutual reception, combining the archetypes of international relations (Sagittarius) and covert, hidden things (Scorpio). Saturn is in the sign of leadership and royalty (Leo). Mars is in the sign of money (Taurus). On a collective level, this signifies the acquisition of hidden or secret information used to undermine the power of world leaders.

    New CD for Sale

My most recent talk, Astrology and Fixed Signs, recorded on November 13, is available on CD or mp3. I discuss the meanings of Mars in Taurus, Jupiter in Scorpio, Saturn in Leo and Neptune in Aquarius, how they relate to each other in hard aspect, and how these transits will affect those with planets in the above fixed signs. $10 for the CD, $5 for the mp3 download.

    Astrology Consultations

Astrology consultations are 80 minutes in length and cost 120 dollars. They are available in my Brooklyn or Manhattan offices, or over the phone. I will mail you a CD recording of your session so that you can listen to it later at your convenience. I review the potential gifts and struggles as indicated by your birth chart, and provide a preview of the next eighteen months, using predictive techniques including transits, progressions and eclipses.
