The Waxing Moon is released at the beginning of each lunar cycle, to inform you about my astrological take on film professionals, the upcoming full moon, and anything else that draws my attention.
Jim Carrey seems an unlikely Capricorn, as he is anything but serious, although he has certainly put in some good work as a dramatic actor. But looking at the influence of Saturn, we can see that he has built a reputation as an attention-hog, literally twisting himself into shapes to earn the audience's love. You can read more about Jim in the Capricorn issue of Constellation. This innovative online astrology magazine has a reasonable subscription fee, and you can sample one issue for free. The Aquarius issue should be online any day now. Look out for my article on Nathan Lane! Also, my C.S. Lewis essay, which appeared in the inaugural issue, is now on my blog.
Retrograde Saturn has moved out of the stressful Grand Cross with Neptune, Jupiter and Mars (see my November and December newsletters for more on this configuration). However, these three latter planets are still making hard aspects to each other in fixed signs. The upcoming full moon is also in a fixed sign -- Leo. So the moon fills out yet another Grand Cross, opposing the Sun and Neptune in Aquarius, squaring Mars in Taurus, and squaring Jupiter in Scorpio. The Mars-Jupiter-Neptune combination makes us want to act to fulfill our loftiest ideals, no matter how unrealistic they may be. One could go overboard making sacrifices for the higher good, or lose one's assertive drive and instead lie in bed fantasizing about a meditation retreat in Maui. The Sun will exactly conjoin Neptune a week before the full moon, and will still be influenced by the archetype of imagination and transcendence during the full moon. At this time, our desire to express our ego's energies is subsumed by the need to transcend the self, through mysticism, music or madness. A good time to write bad poetry, pluck on your acoustic guitar, and stare at your navel. I would advise staying out of the pub and cutting down on the reefer, but who I am to judge? I have my own ways of escaping reality. The moon will be in the Sun's natural sign, yet the Sun is surrendering to the vast Neptunian sea of egolessness. We desire to be seen and validated (Leo) for our grand vision (Jupiter-Neptune) to help humanity (Aquarius), but it might serve us better to be anonymous Good Samaritans.
I got a new job! I am making a career change, leaving the mental health clinic to join Visionary Networks as an Internet Content Producer for tarot.com/aol. Tarot.com provides authentic tarot and i-ching readings as well as astrology and numerology reports. (Don't worry, I am still available for astrology consultations in the evenings and weekends.)
This picture is not representative of my current self. I have been growing my hair for several months, but have been too lazy to take a digital photograph. I also hope I look happier now that I've got a job I'm excited about. As I mentioned above, I'm still doing readings. Refer your friends! Sessions are 80 minutes in length and cost 120 dollars. I also do shorter and cheaper sessions, but the quality remains the same. You can see me live and in-person in Brooklyn, or talk to me over the phone. I will mail you a CD recording of your session so that you can listen to it later at your convenience. I review the potential gifts and struggles as indicated by your birth chart, and provide a preview of the next eighteen months, using predictive techniques including transits, progressions and eclipses.
